When the time comes for a new building for grain or hay/straw storage, livestock care, equipment protection, vehicle housing, a machine shop, aircraft hangar or a riding arena, AFAB Industries in Rocanville, Saskatchewan offers quality construction to meet your needs. And in addition to quality, AFAB is all about strength and durability. As equipment gets bigger because of more complex capabilities, so does the need for storage buildings that are wider, higher, and stronger. At AFAB they pride themselves on their choice of construction equipment, even down to the nuts and bolts, so the extra strength is easy to see.
Heel trusses, standard on all larger AFAB buildings, are nailed and double-bolted to the posts. On side walls the posts are notched so the rafters can fit into them, then they are nailed and bolted together. Speaking of posts, their own Ultra-Posts are both glued and mechanically fastened making them 25 percent stronger than other products. On end walls the critically-selected straight posts extend all the way to the rafters’ top cord. The result is a building that is stronger and straighter.
On the walls and the roof, 2x6-inch strapping is used. Joints are staggered for extra strength and cladding is fastened on every row of strapping. To help AFAB buildings start tight and stay tight, they use superior grade #14 screws that have over twice the weight, tensile strength, and shear stress, plus over three times the torque, compared to the industry standard #9 screw.
When post and beam construction is utilized in buildings requiring a concrete foundation, foundation clips are used. Dedicated to excellence, they use only North American steel with the highest quality finish.
Along with quality materials and a second-to-none construction team working with all the necessary subcontractors, AFAB proudly provides a 40-year warranty on their buildings and offers service throughout Western Canada.
