Adaptive Tack for Therapeutic Riding

Adaptive tack is used in therapeutic riding to compensate for the rider’s physical or cognitive limitations, thereby enabling safe riding accomplishment. There is a wide range of adaptive tack and here is an introduction to the most commonly used items in a Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association (CanTRA) accredited program. None of the adaptive tack described here affects the well-being of the horse.

Program to Recognise the Excellence of Canadian-Bred Quarter Horses Expanded

The Canadian Quarter Horse Association’s (CQHA) Breeders Committee launched a program in 2022 to reward Canadian-bred Quarter Horses excelling in their disciplines at events nationwide sanctioned by American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) and/or AQHA/CQHA Affiliate partners.

We have launched our Horse Play Program that allows members to record their horse activity whether they are watching a clinic, cleaning a stall, or taking their horse on a trail. Rich Fellers Pleads Guilty to Sexually Abusing Teen Student

The once celebrated United States Show Jumping Olympian Rich Fellers was arrested June 7, 2021, after an indictment by a Grand Jury for four counts of second degree sexual abuse of 18-year-old Maggie Kehring. A former student of Fellers, Kehring was only 17 at the time the allegations of misconduct took place in her apartment.

Here Comes the Judge! Guelph, ON July 4, 2023 — It’s official! Five provincial equestrian associations have partnered with Equine Guelph to offer online training for those interested in becoming horse show judges in grassroots circuits. Entry level judges are a vital part of equestrian sport and now the opportunity to train to become a recognized provincial official will be offered on TheHorsePortal.ca through the new Provincial Foundations Officials Course.
