Prairieland Park organizers and the Saskatchewan Equine Expo Committee would like to thank their partners, the Saskatchewan Horse Federation and the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, along with the sponsors, media, and volunteers, who helped to make the 9th Annual Saskatchewan Equine Expo an amazing success.

April 3 - 5, 2020 - The Can-Am All Breeds Equine Expo is thrilled to announce its return to the Markham Fairgrounds for the 2020 show. Eastern Canada’s premier equine event will take place April 3-5, 2020, bringing together thousands of horse lovers and industry partners all under one roof for a great weekend for everyone from the seasoned horse person to the weekend rider and everyone in between. The Can-Am Equine Expo 2020 will feature a lineup of international clinicians free with admission, family-fun entertainment and performances, all indoor shopping, and free on-site parking.

Focus on Professionalism and Standards - On October 27, the University of Guelph held its third annual Equine Industry Symposium in which horse enthusiasts from all backgrounds in the industry set their sights on issues in our highly diverse $19 billion industry. The symposium was organized by Equine Management students in the Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management degree at the University of Guelph, and they chose professionalism and standards as the focus of a community-wide discussion for the day-long event.

November 2 – 4, 2018, Saskatoon, SK - Saskatchewan Association of Veterinary Technologists - The 34th Annual Saskatchewan Association of Veterinary Technologists' Conference will take place November 2 to 4, 2018, at the Saskatoon Inn and the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. We are excited to host Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVTs) and those dedicated to animals and veterinary medicine from throughout Canada and the United States, and focus on animal wellness and welfare. Our conference is one of the only conferences specifically geared towards RVTs and the crucial work that they do. This weekend is vital to the continued development of RVTs.

Two days of intense competition saw riders from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island sharing in the spoils at the 2018 Atlantic Canada Equestrian (ACE) Championships in Dressage. Each province fielded a Long Term Equestrian Development (LTED) program throughout the spring and summer through which teams and individual competitors prepared for the final event.

Late winter is a time of looking forward, looking back. Horse people, especially those on the prairies, are looking forward to spring. The days are getting longer and we are all waiting impatiently for signs of change. Did you REALLY see some hair giving way on that horse’s rear end? Maybe not.

The 14th annual Canadian National Andalusian and Lusitano Show and Fiesta will be held August 11 to 13, 2017, at the Westerner Park, Red Deer, AB. The three-day show will offer classes in all disciplines, including halter and flat for purebred and part-bred Andalusians and Lusitanos, as well as a variety of all-breed classes.

Manitoba’s Keystone Centre presents the 10th Anniversary of Horse3 in their Westoba Ag Centre, Brandon, on April 14 to 16, 2017.

An Outstanding Success for Equestrian Sport - The 2016 BC Summer Games, held July 22 to 24 this year, was a rollicking good time! This was one of the best BC Summer Games that Horse Council BC has ever had the pleasure of being a part of. Abbotsford was a terrific host city and all the volunteers made the four days of competition a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience for all involved.
